What To Expect This Season

We are very excited to start welcoming back all of our guests for the upcoming season. The need to get outside and be active with friends and family is more important than ever and there’s no better way to do that than skiing and snowboarding in the winter. All of our guests can expect the same great service you’ve come to know at Rabbit Hill. However, this season your visit will look a little different to ensure the health and safety of both our guests and our staff is maintained. We have been working with our industry partners and Alberta Health Services to provide everyone with a safe environment while still ensuring a great skiing and snowboarding experience.

Below are some of the policies and procedures we have implemented in order to comply with local and provincial health and safety regulations. Please be aware that at any time these policies and procedures can change as government requirements change. Always check this page for the latest information before visiting. Hours of Operation

If you’ve ever been down to the hill on a weekday then you have encountered the hundreds of school kids that we host on a daily basis. From what we know right now, there will be no field trips for the coming school year. In order to reduce our operating expenses to account for this loss of revenue, we have adjusted our weekday hoursOur weekend hours will not change and will continue to be 9am to 5pm

Christmas Holidays - Dec 19 - Jan 3, 2021

Our hours of operation over the Christmas holidays will be Mon - Sun 9am to 5pm**.

**For Tuesday, Dec 22 and 29, we will be open 9am to 9pm.

For school PD days and Teacher’s Convention days, we will strive to be open 9:00am to 9pm. However, this will be completely dependant on our ability to staff these extended hour days. Please check our Hours of Operation page for the most up to date information.

Planning Your Visit

In order to adhere to physical distancing and other health guidelines we will be limiting the number of people that can visit Rabbit Hill on a daily basis. Anyone that wishes to visit us this season will be required to book their visit online in advance. This will include all lift tickets, rentals, lessons, Flexi Passes, Embrace Cards, voucher holders and club members. There will be no option to show up to the resort and purchase a lift ticket or lessons in person at Customer Service. If there is still capacity remaining you will be able to purchase online for the same day.

At this time season pass holders will not be required to book ahead. However, if you have purchased season rentals, you MUST reserve your visit in advance by email [email protected]. This will allow us to pre-set your equipment and have it waiting for you when you arrive at the hill. There will be a central season pass holder checkpoint where all pass holders must scan in before they go riding. This will allow us to track pass holder visits and provide contact tracing for Alberta Health Services should the need arise.

We know that booking online ahead of time is a big change for most of our guests. This is being done to ensure that we can provide a safe environment for both you and our staff. We very much appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate operating in this new age of COVID.

Face Coverings

Appropriate face coverings will be a big part of your riding experience at Rabbit Hill this season. We will be requiring an appropriate face covering inside any building, in our lift lines, on our lifts and in any outside ticket, lesson or rental line. An appropriate face covering will also be required while attending any group or private lesson.

Appropriate Face Coverings

An appropriate face covering should ideally be at least 2 layers, fit snugly over your nose and mouth and not have any holes or gaps in the material.

Some examples of inappropriate face coverings are knitted scarves, Air Hole masks with the hole in the face covering and anything else that is a single thin layer and loose fitting.

No Exceptions

Rabbit Hill will not be allowing for any exceptions to our face coverings policy. This policy is a vital piece to our safe operating guidelines and not following this policy puts our guests and staff at greater risk of COVID exposure. We appreciate that some people have a medical exemption for wearing a face covering. However, AHS recommends anyone that cannot medically wear a face covering should avoid any public place where physical distancing cannot be guaranteed. 

Lift Tickets

All lift tickets must be purchased and reserved online this season. Lift Tickets can be purchased at anytime and MUST be reserved for a specific date a maximum 30 days in advance. We will be selling lift tickets in blocked time periods and your ticket will only be valid for the time block you choose. Click here to visit our Lift Ticket page for more information.

The 30 minutes between the morning and afternoon time blocks is there to allow time for the returning and sanitizing of rental equipment and for the day lodge to be made available for afternoon guests.

Lift Ticket Pickup

When you reserve your lift ticket online, you will be emailed a receipt with a barcoded ticket voucher attached. You must present this ticket voucher at one of our outside ticket windows in order to receive your lift ticket. All online lift ticket purchases MUST be redeemed at our outside ticket windows before you are able to proceed to the lifts. We will have ticket checkers at our lifts scanning for valid tickets and passes.

Any guest that has purchased both lift tickets and rentals does not need to stop at the ticket windows and can proceed directly to the Rental Shop. The staff in the Rental Shop will be able to print the lift ticket as well.

The inside Customer Service counter will only be available for season pass pickup and lesson check-in.

Season Passes

At this time season pass holders will not be required to book their visit ahead of time. All pass holders will be scanned throughout their visit at our chairlift and Tbars. This will allow us to track pass holder visits and provide contact tracing for Alberta Health Services should the need arise.

All season pass holders must sign their Waiver of Liability online before the pass will be issued. There will be no option to sign a paper waiver at the hill.

Season Rentals

For those season pass holders that have also purchased season rentals, you will be required to reserve your visit by emailing [email protected] before you visit. Doing so allows us to pre-set your equipment to have it waiting for you before you arrive. This also allows us to limit the amount of renters going through our Rental Shop to maintain proper physical distancing. There are no guarantees that you will get the reservation date you want.

Ski & Snowboard Rentals

Guests will have to option to purchase their rentals in person at the Rental Shop, provided they have booked a lift ticket online in advance. Online bookings can be made 30 days in advance. Rentals will not be sold without a valid lift ticket having been purchased online.

Any guest that has been issued a special rental promo code or has a Flexi Pass MUST still purchase their rentals online. The Rental Shop staff will not be able to process discounted rentals for you at the Rental Shop.

Everyone renting equipment must fill out our Daily Rental Waiver online before they arrive to the hill. We will not have paper copies of our rental forms available to fill out. 

When you arrive at Rabbit Hill you can proceed directly to the Rental Shop. You do not have to stop at the outside ticket windows first as the Rental Shop will be able to print your lift tickets.

Indoor Spaces

Update: Jan 8, 2021

With the extension of the Dec 8 government restrictions until at least the end of January, we are not permitted to have any indoor seating for eating or warming up. Food items can be purchased from the cafeteria but must be taken outside to be eaten. Our washrooms are open for use but there is a maximum capacity in our lodge of 35 guests, which will be enforced.


We will be limiting the amount of people that can come inside our day lodge and rental shop to ensure we can maintain proper physical distancing. We highly recommend all guests come dressed to be outside for the majority of your visit to Rabbit Hill. 

Our cafeteria will be open but our menu will be limited. We will have plenty of grab and go items so you can maximize your time out on the slopes.

Those guests that are not skiing or snowboarding will be required to watch from our outdoor patio area. This will allow us to accommodate as many guests as possible that wish to grab a bite to eat inside and use our washroom facilities. Please come dressed to be outside for the majority of your stay.

There will be no cubbies or day use lockers available this season. You will need to keep your personal items in your vehicle when you come down to the hill. Think of your vehicle as your own personal day lodge this winter.

Lift Loading Capacities

All guests must wear a mask or face covering at all times in all lift lines and on all lifts.

Triple Chair Lift

This season we only be allowing 3 guests per chair if they are in the same family or cohort. Otherwise, singles or doubles sitting on opposite sides of the chair will be allowed. We will allow singles to ride the chair lift at anytime.

T-Bars

The maximum number of guests allowed per T-bar will be 1, unless riding with a household family member. All guests riding the T-bar must be wearing a face covering.

Carpet Lifts and Rope Tows

Each guest riding the carpet lifts and rope tows will be spaced out a minimum of 2 meters apart. All guests riding the carpet lifts or rope tows must be wearing a face covering.

COVID Related FAQ’s

Will there be a limit on how many people can visit per day?

Yes we will have a set capacity for each time block we offer. This is why anyone wishing to come ride must book their date in advance. 

Space in our public buildings will be even more limited and there may be times you’ll have to line up to get inside the day lodge or rental shop. Please come prepared to be outside for the majority of your visit. There will be a 20 minute time limit for all guests to be inside the lodge.

Will the Weekend/Holiday buses be running this season?

No. Unfortunately, due to the severe capacity restrictions on buses, we will not be able to offer our weekend/holiday bus service this season. 

Will the Cafeteria be open?

Yes. Our Cafeteria will be open for the season but we will be offering a limited menu. Our main focus will be on grab and go type food items that you can take on the slopes with you to maximize your time at the hill. There will be a 20 minute time limit for every guest inside the lodge.

Will you be accepting cash this season?

No we will not be accepting any cash payments. We accept Visa and Master Card payments for online purchases and Debit, Visa and Master Card tap at the hill. You can also load a Rabbit Hill Gift Card with any amount to use at the hill. Please note that Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase online through our website.

Will you have a Terrain Park?

We will be offering our early season temp park and then our Route 27 Park once we have finished with snow making. We will not have our Championship Park this season.

Can I purchase a lift ticket or rental the same day I want to ride?

Anyone who wishes to come riding at Rabbit Hill this season must purchase their lift ticket and rental online in advance. If we are not at capacity you may be able to purchase online for the same day but there will be no option to purchase lift tickets at the ticket window or at Customer Service. 

Will you have lessons this season?

We will be offering our group and private lessons but they will be a little different. We will have smaller group sizes so we can maintain physical distancing. Face coverings will also be required for anyone taking a group or private lesson.

How do I book my season rentals?

Reservations for season rentals must be made by emailing our Rental Shop at [email protected]. Make sure you include what date you want to visit, who is visiting and your arrival time. Reservations must be made by at least 8am the day prior.

I have a Gift Card, can I use it to purchase online?

At this time, Gift Cards can only be used for purchases at Rabbit Hill and not online. Gift Cards can be used in the Cafeteria as well as our Retail Shop. If you wish to use a Gift Card for a lift ticket, rental or lesson purchase, please email us at [email protected]

I would like to sit in the lodge and watch my kids ride, can I do that this season?

If you don’t ski or snowboard but would still like to come down and watch your kids ride, you can definitely do that from our outside deck. Seating inside the lodge will be reserved for those that wish to stop and have bite to eat and there will be a 20 minute time limit.

Will you have microwaves available in the lodge?

Unfortunately, due to health regulations, we will not be able to have microwaves in the lodge for customer use.

Will there be lockers or cubbies available for use in the lodge?

There will be no cubbies or lockers in the day lodge this season. We ask that you keep all belongings in your vehicle.

Will there be Guest Wifi offered?

Due to the capacity restrictions in our lodge, we will not be offering Guest Wifi this season. We must limit the amount of people as well as the amount of time spent in the lodge. Guests can be in the lodge for no more than 20 minutes.
